Dam on Bystrzyca River was erected in 1911-1914 to protect the surrounding villages from floods. Picturesque reservoir created by the dam became one of the tourist attractions in the area.

Renaissance palace in Krobielowice was built from the 16th until the 18th century. The village however was already mentioned in the year 1321. The oldest part of the palace is erected in gothic style, which remains can still be viewed in the basements. Today the palace serves as a hotel.

Kraskow, one of the most outstanding Baroque palaces of Central Europe lies in the picturesque Bystrzyca River valley, at the foot of the mountain of Sleza. The palace remained in ruin until in 1992 its new Austrian owner began its restoration. All the buildings were meticulously renovated and converted into a luxury hotel.

The old gold mine in Zloty Stok houses the Underground Museum of Mining and Gold Metallurgy. Gold was mined here as early as the 13th century. Mining of the main deposits ceased in the 19th century, but the last 30kg of gold were excavated in 1962.

Wambierzyce basilica looks like St Peter's basilica built in the middle of nowhere, in a small town of Wambierzyce. It is one of the most important Marian sanctuaries in Poland, which attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. The basilica in Wambierzyce is often called Lower Silesian Jerusalem.
