It is one of the largest and oldest cities in Poland. Situated on the Vistula river in the Lesser Poland region, the city dates back to the 7th century. It was the capital of Poland from 1038 to 1596, it is now the capital of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
Krzysztof Ludwin was born in Cracow. He graduated from the faculty of Architecture at Cracow University of Technology (1981-1987) and from the Faculty of Industrial Design at Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1987-1988). Since 1995 he has been working at the faculty of Architecture at Cracow University of Technology, Section of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture.
Autumn 2004 will see the third edition of the Krakow's Photomonth, which is one of 22 festivals of the prestigious international association of the "Festival of Light", gathering photo festivals organized in a number of countries world-wide. The festival opens on 25 October 2004 in Galeria Starmach (Wegierska 5, Krakow) and shall last till the end of November.
