Its building had started in 1898. The designer of this neogothic temple was the famous architect, engineer Józef Pius Dziekoński (he had designed also the Cathedral of St. Florian in Warsaw and Cathedral in Białystok). Blessed archbishop Antoni Julian Nowowiejski consecrated the church in 1909.

Makow Mazowiecki is the county town in mazovian voivodeship, located by the Orzyc river. It is very atractive place of recreation, mainly for inhabitants of Warsaw and vicinity.

Collegiate church by the name of Virgin Mary and St Alexy in Tum, also called Leczyca collegiate church is one of the best preserved examples of Roman architecture in Poland.
